Candy-Hungry Monsters and Princesses Take Over Lakeview

Trick or Treat on Southport

Sunday Oct. 26th | 1:00-4:00pm

Southport Ave. between Belmont & Irving Park

Southport will be closed to car traffic from Roscoe to Addison and from Waveland to Grace.

Trick or Treat on Southport is a free community event featuring trick-or-treating at storefront businesses, photo booths for families to capture their experience, and outdoor activities organized by local businesses. This annual tradition has attracted such large crowds in recent years that we've outgrown the sidewalks, and this year's event will include a street closure in order to more safely accommodate the throngs of costumed children.

Southport Grocery finalist in 2015 Good Food Awards.

"It was not easy to make it onto this list," says Sarah Weiner, co-founder and Executive Director of Seedling Projects, the 501 (c) 3 behind the Good Food Awards. "The quality of entries increases every year, and even amongst the highest scoring, nearly two dozen entries didn't quite meet the high bar we set for sustainability. The 2015 Finalists are truly the leaders in their fields, epitomizing taste, authenticity and responsible production." Southport Grocery made the list for their Bread & Butter Pickles and Red Pepper Jam.
