Sunday Spot to invite pedestrians into the street with free programming this fall

Sunday Spot logo 2015

On three consecutive Sundays in October, Sunday Spot will transform a dynamic stretch of Paulina Street, from Roscoe to Henderson, into a fun-filled pop-up plaza. People of all ages are invited to enjoy free programming, including interactive art activities, performances by local musicians and group fitness classes, on October 4, 11 and 18 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Sunday Spot was launched in 2014 as Sunday Play Spot, attracting thousands of attendees in its first year. In 2015, the series, renamed "Sunday Spot," will explore three core program areas, art, music and play, with each event addressing one of these themes. A complete list of programming is available here.

In addition to programming, attendees will be encouraged to shop, eat and drink in the neighborhood with "After Spots," which include a collection of local businesses providing special offers and sidewalk sales in conjunction with Sunday Spot.

The series is a collaboration between the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce, which is the sole service provider for Special Service Area 27 (SSA 27), and local businesses and institutions. Additional support is provided by 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar and Whole Foods Market.
